2. A trader bought goods for ₦84,000 and sold at a 25% profit. Find the selling price.

Solution

Profit = 25% of 84,000
= 0.25 × 84,000 = ₦21,000

Selling price = 84,000 + 21,000 = ₦105,000

3. Solve the simultaneous equations:

2x+y=112x + y = 11 x−y=1x – y = 1

Solution

Add the equations:
3x = 12 → x = 4
